Meeting Recap:
The first part of the meeting consisted of introducing PrePAIR Mentor’s x We Got Your Back (WGYB) Supply Drive. The primary purpose of this supply drive was to collect school supplies for students and young children in Africa, Guatemala, and Indian public schools alongside two organizations: We Got Your Back Africa (represented by Anna Sabria) and Rebuilding Our Community (Ayesha Jaco). The WGYB supply drive took place between November 7th through 11th. Supplies such as folders, binders, notebooks, backpacks, stationary, textbooks, test preparation books, and kid-friendly books were collected.
Then, Ms. Squillace discussed several internship opportunities available to high school students that were primarily associated with non-profit management (marketing, development, and education). Internship applications open January 8th, 2023, so if you were not able to attend you can still apply! Internships are available to high school students within several fields, allowing you to apply to an internship that best fits your career aspirations and interests!
Mr. Konecki then discusses how he helps people within the ages of 18 through 82 with finding employment opportunities as well as the benefits associated with helping communities. The benefits and experience associated with helping the community as something that you as a student, can gain by participating in these internships!
